Alterlaa

Alterlaa is one of the biggest housing areas in Vienna and basically acts as a town within a town (covering its own infrastructure, from a whole variety of supermarkets to schools - even tennis courts and swimming pools). Even though it is regarded as one of the flaghip projects of 70s satellite-cities, its appearance seems strange to people participating in the general infrastructure of cities. This "strange appearance" was especially conspicious on one of the hottest days in summer, when the heated concrete kept the inhabitants of Alterlaa from going outside, making the housing area a whole different deserted place.
